Welcome
The Crown Inn is a traditional freehold country pub in the Polden level village of Catcott, which lies just off the A39 between the popular towns of Bridgwater and Street (well known for the Clarks outlet shopping village)
The original part of this idyllic pub is over 400 years old and has the warmth and character so many pubs have lost over the years retaining the wonderful open log fire (great on a chilly night), original flagstone floors, cob walls and low beamed ceilings.
Owned and personally run by Bob and Row Kingston for the past four years the pub has gone from strength to strength and although well known for creative home cooked food, it is still a popular pub well supported by the local villagers popping in for a pint and chat as they have done for many years.
Bob (landlord) runs the bar and front of house with pride, ensuring that the brass is gleaming and the good selection of cask ales are kept and served to perfection, serving a great range of popular ales - Proper Job – Doom Bar – Otter Bitter – Sharps Own are often on tap
Row is happiest in the kitchen and adores cooking, always looking to create different dishes using local seasonal produce, the kitchen is open every evening from 6pm, Tues to Sat lunchtime 12-2 and Sunday 12-3
We have been assessed by Sedgemoor District Council for hygiene and food safety and have been awarded the top five stars. We have many mentions in the good pub guide including an award of excellence, and have been featured in the Western Daily Press.
We also have a large function room/skittle alley ideal for weddings, parties etc.
And menus for simple buffets to amazing banquets are available upon request either at the Crown or see our outside catering page.
We have a large car park, beer garden and have highchairs upon request.
