The Crown Inn is a traditional freehold country pub in the Polden level village of Catcott, which lies just off the A39 between the popular towns of Bridgwater and Street
The original part of this idyllic pub is over 400 years old and has the warmth and character so many pubs have lost over the years retaining the wonderful open log fire (great on a chilly night), original flagstone floors, cob walls and low beamed ceilings.
Owned and personally run by Bob and Row Kingston for the past nine years but now has been taken over by son and daughter in-law Dan and Jess and although well known for creative home cooked food, it is still a popular pub well supported by the local villagers popping in for a pint and chat as they have done for many years.
Dan now runs the bar and front of house with pride, ensuring that the brass is gleaming and the good selection of cask ales are kept and served to perfection, Pheasant Plucker is our new cider and has proved extremely popular.
Bob is still here busy sharpening his knife for carveries
Jess and Row are happiest in the kitchen and adores cooking, always looking to create different dishes using local seasonal produce, the kitchen is open every evening from 6pm, Tues to Sat lunchtime 12-2 and Sunday 12-3
Sunday Carvery’s are very popular (booking’s advised) and are served Lunchtime 12-2pm and Evening 6-8pm
NEW Wednesday Evening carvery 6pm – 8pm
We also have a large function room/skittle alley ideal for weddings, parties etc and
